NEWS FROM CTM

August 2011

Dear Friends,

A special thank you to all our members who on a regular basis continue to support both the Catholic Traditionalist Movement and the Ave Maria Chapel despite the harsh economic times we are living through in our country.

As the Catholic Traditionalist Movement observed the 46th anniversary of its public launching this past March, we find that our Church is no closer to the day that sanity will return to her. Many who declared victory at the issuance of Pope Benedict’s Motu Proprio on the Mass 4 years ago, are now realizing how right we were in our analysis of that document believing as we did, that not much would come from it.

After a three year review of its application last September, the Vatican issued “Universae Ecclesia”, signed by Cardinal William Levada and Monsignor Guido Pozzo respectively, the president and secretary of the Pontifical Commission Ecclesia Dei. It was reportedly approved by the Pope. The purpose of this document being to clarify the Motu Proprio’s application.

Once again, this document relegates the true Mass to the “extraordinary” category and deems the mockery of the new Mass as the “ordinary”. Well, as we who just observed the 441st anniversary of the Apostolic Decree “Quo Primum” this past July 19th, know, “there ain’t no such animal”.

That decree given for all times never to be revoked or amended makes it clear that never can anything be added to or omitted from or changed in the missal. That decree gives every Roman Catholic priest the moral, canonical and legal grounds to offer the real Mass without fear of ecclesiastical penalties and censures. That decree makes it clear to anyone who would dare to attempt any action contrary to that decree given for all times that he would incur “THE WRATH OF ALMIGHTY GOD AND OF THE BLESSED APOSTLES PETER AND PAUL”.

Just as we warned 4 years ago, this latest Vatican document appears to propose some sort of blending of the true Mass with the new Mass. This new concoction will, I guess, have enough of the old Mass to fool those who still want it while at the same time having enough of the new Mass for those updated sophisticated Catholics who are so much more in tune with the modern times than us stupid Traditionalists. The purpose of this is to completely eliminate the real Something added in this latest Vatican document which was not included in the Pope’s Motu Proprio is the following: For those Catholic laity who ask for the “extraordinary form” of the Mass, they must not belong, or in any way support groups which show themselves to be against the validity or legitimacy of the new Mass and Sacraments. Is it any wonder then why everything the new church does seems to be cursed? It is because they have incurred the wrath of Almighty God and the Blessed Apostles Peter and Paul.

What is very clear, however, is that the desire for the real Mass is alive and well among the Catholic laity and not just among old ladies in tennis shoes. In fact, news reaching us has informed us that even amongst young seminarians there is a desire to learn the real Mass.

As the Catholic Traditionalist Movement enters its 47th year, the credit for this belongs to no one other than our founder, Father Gommar A. De Pauw. It is thanks to the radio Mass which he started 41 years ago this October which kept the desire for the true Mass alive in the hearts and souls of millions of Roman Catholics throughout the world. It is thanks to the video Mass and Masses on DVDs that millions of Roman Catholics throughout the world were able to join him spiritually each Sunday morning. It was through this that Catholics were able to see just how much had changed in the Mass. They could see the difference between the centuries old Sacrifice of the Mass and what was being peddled by the worst salesmen in history in their local parish churches. As a result of this, Catholics chose to stay home and make a spiritual Mass and Communion rather than to participate in the mockery of the new Mass in local parishes. When technology advanced to the internet, it was Father De Pauw who made the Mass available 24 hours a day on demand on the Catholic Traditionalist Movement’s website for any Roman Catholic to be able to make a spiritual Mass and Communion at any time.

However, nothing was as important as the establishment of our Ave Maria Chapel which this past June observed its 43rd anniversary where the little flame of the true faith keeps burning and where the centuries old Sacrifice of the True Mass is kept alive. It is in this Chapel for all the world to see that a fully functioning Traditionalist Roman Catholic parish was set up in accordance with all Church laws giving traditionalists a place of their own.

Your regular and generous contributions to both the Catholic Traditionalist Movement and the Ave Maria Chapel have ensured that God’s work can continue to be accomplished.

This newsletter, however, will not deal with any Vatican documents but rather it will deal with the life of the priest responsible for keeping the real Mass alive. In order to understand how he came to be the leader of the Catholic Traditionalist Movement one needs to understand and know what his earlier life was like. This newsletter which will be put out in several editions will attempt to accomplish just that. Therefore, this newsletter will take you to the earlier formative years of his life.

I sincerely hope you will enjoy what I am about to share with you. It should prove to be very interesting and informative reading!

Yours truly,

Richard
